Here is a view of Frenchman's Bay and in less than two minutes the bank of fog shifted changing the image just a bit. It is quite dramatic. Behind the fog is an island one of a chain called the Porcupine Islands.
Just an aside...anything for a shot: I climbed over the guard rail on busy Route 3 in a skirt. I did this several times over to get different vantage points. If you know of my uncoordinated nature...you can just picture this and laugh. One leap over- some joggers were passing and I didn't hike my shirt up and I got hung up on the railing causing quite a scene. Once over, the gravel shoulder is the only not so sure footing where one might plummet to their death upon the ocean and rocks below. (I don't like heights particularly!)
Cautiously, I trudged through tall weedy grass in my flip flops to capture a few Black Eyed Susans. Whenever I see them I think of my mother. As I peered at them through the lens, I noticed that their edges were rough and some petals had holes. No bother...that imperfection equates beauty. Not everything is bundled in a nice neat tiny package. As a photographer (I have never called myself that out loud) may I NEVER overlook that imperfect image which is the truth contributing to the nature and ways of the world as a whole. In short, I want my lens to contribute to the unity of my little world capturing the TRUE essence of a time and place. I don't want to be stuck in my perspective but be open to all. Honoring all.
(I know....a bit philosophical for so early in the morning.)

Now I realize that if this old car was parked on the opposite side of the road the sun would have been at my back. Not being a car crazy person my interest is limited to the old cars. I love the head lights, the grill, the curve of the bumper.........so even though this photo has a flash from the sun, I find it the most interesting.
TtV is a lot easier since I rigged up a neck strap. Not too pretty, but functional. (Right Jeff?!)

When my camera is in my hand, my son is normally scarce. But tonight with the slant of light just right, I thought I would ask if he would allow me to take his photo. He patiently waited for me to run for my Lensbaby which is now my first choice in a portrait lens. Lensbaby ROCKS!

Any homeowner knows that there is ALWAYS a long "To Do" list. After working hard all day, my dear sweet husband is out re-roofing a portion of our home. Last night I was called a bed hog as the dog and I crept toward my husband's half of the bed. "I'm getting rained on!" I replied. The roof no longer kept out the elements, so...out of devotion or preservation of his sleep, my husband pounds away in twilight to keep me safe and warm and on my side of the bed!
