Genetic Predisposition to...
GAME PLAYING. That's right any kid related to me loves to play games. Memories are of my family gathering around the table playing newly acquired games from Santa. My mother reading the directions much too quickly and mumbly for any human ear to comprehend always had the upper hand. By the way, my mild mannered, sweet mother was a competitive wolf in sheep's clothing!

Afternoon Art
What better way to spend an afternoon, but doing art? My artist friend who invited us to do Raku earlier in the fall, taught us collage using painted tissue paper and Modge Podge. What great fun!
The Entertainer
We visited with a friend and was totally taken by her cats. Sammy has such distinctive markings and large eyes. A beautiful cat-not bothered at all by the antics of strange guests remarking over and over about his features. I just had to try another TtV shot. Thanks Sammy.

View from a Perch
My husband is working in the elements, with this view. All day a storm was brewing with the wind coming right off the ocean. With five layers of clothing he labored at 35 degrees, without the wind chill factored in. Hence, my husband was greeted at home with a mug of steaming hot cocoa and homemade whipped cream. I was sympathetic for however long it took me to snap a photo, I had removed my mitten and thought my hand was going to fall off. How does he stand it-even with this view?!

A Celebration with Light-Hot Light!
It seems so long ago when we lit sparklers on the beach at camp. The kids pranced around in the heat of the night listening to the sizzle of the lighted sticks. They almost looked like fireworks...I wonder if the pending new year will be marked with such celebration?

Snow Waves
This was the view early Friday morn looking out my friend's living room window as we gathered for an annual Christmas gathering. It was quite frigid and everything was frozen. Twenty-four hours later, it was nearly forty degrees and throughout the day, there was a big melt. I thought for sure that we would have a "White Christmas" with seasonably frigid temperatures, but bare ground has emerged and warm temperatures are on the horizen. Oh well...
Preparations
The boys were right into the cookie baking scene last night. And earlier this evening, we left Santa a sweet note, a cookie, skim milk and a few carrots for his reindeer. When I was about five, I awoke Christmas morn mesmerized by a shaky handwritten note I clutched in my hand. Mrs. Claus having traveled with Santa that year, left us a note...she had done all the dishes for my hard working mother. Such a wonder!
