Hitchin' a Ride

It was all down hill. A hot and dusty jaunt in this truck saved a 2.5 hour walk to the main village.

Not used to having visitors at the higher altitudes this turkey fanned its' tail at me when I stopped to say hello. What a show off!

What is This?

Don't you find the cork screw design to be fascinating? I have no clue what this plant is. I wonder if it is edible?

Grinder

Say "grinder" and what do you think of...a sub or while in Costa Rica a mechanism to pulverize corn? Corn tortillas anyone?

Maize

I couldn't tell whether this corn was for human consumption or whether it was for the chickens. Anyway, I love the shot.

Fresh Flavorful in Winter

You can only get not so flavorful fruit in Maine during the winter months for an astronomical cost. Fruit was plentiful during our trip to Costa Rica and oh so juicy and tasty. Whenever offered a piece I took it. I knew what awaited me in Maine. Ice, snow and canned or frozen fruit!
