It's Coming
Yesterday we woke to a little nip in the air. The breeze sent a cool reminder that a new season is approaching and with that comes new beginnings and changes that we must adjust to whether we want to or not. Yesterday, I knit this hat for my sweet sweet daughter who will soon be off to college. I find knitting to be meditative and relaxing. Just what I need right now...

Fair Warning
See this sign? It is representative of the various hairpin turns (on mountains) encountered as you travel through Costa Rica. If you are prone to motion sickness, be prepared.
One Stop Shopping
This little store/restaurant had a little of everything. Stopping here half way through our bus ride to Boruca, we split a wonderful empanada and each had a savored cup of coffee in a small plastic cold cup.
The bus transportation in Costa Rica is very inexpensive. It cost us about $6.00 each to travel from San Jose to Boruca which is a six hour bus ride.
On the return trip, there was a landslide that detoured the bus and extended the trip to about 10 hours. If this had happened in the United States we would have heard many complaints, but everyone traveled well taking it all in stride. We were humbled with the patience and kindness of the Costa Rican people.
Early Riser
Each morning we were in San Jose, we woke to this guy selling newspapers in the middle of a three-lane busy, crazy road. Cars zip by him passing him coins and in turn he quickly hands off a paper. Cars don't stop for this transaction. I suppose he has his daily customers and they are both experienced with this tricky exchange.
Last Night
Aren't we cute? Here we are celebrating our last night with some wonderful Costa Rican friends and a fruit drink. Jerry drank so many, I lost track of what kind this is...it might be Mora which is blackberry. Anyway, they are all yummy.
