I don't know why I love this shot so much. It caught my eye on the trail and I continued walking and then decided to walk back to take the photo as I knew the image would remain in my mind and create regret. Who needs regret? I don't. Wait....I love the shadows, light and varying texture....the birch, the granite and the old knarled mossy roots in the background. No regrets here!
