Now I know that this isn't the most remarkable photographic feat, but it is quite a find. If I hadn't been hiking with young children, I would have been sure to miss this PRAYING MANTIS. Now I used to find them now and again as a child in Southern Maine, but I don't remember seeing them this far north. With its' magnificent camoflague it was hard to locate with the naked eye. Earlier in the week one of my student's parents found a dead one in the window as she was cleaning and brought it in the classroom. Their presence a result of global warming??
