Another Saturday

It is Saturday, so it means it is snowing, again. Wintery weather is dragging us all around the snow and ice, whereas we would all rather be wallowing in spring mud and pot holes.

Unless there is traveling in my future, I don't pay much attention to the weather. It is something that can't be controlled; I take it as it comes. Although I must admit that there is a restless stirring within me.

I want to walk in the woods and feel the layers of pine needles cushion each step. I want to pause and run my fingers across the expanse of moss-a carpet of emerald green. I want to slip into Donnell's Pond and feel myself glide through the cool water, buoyant growing stronger with each stroke. I want to dip my hands into the loose soil and smell the pungent odor that comes with planting tomatoes. I want a gentle warm breeze to play with my hair. Simply, I want sun. I want, we all want, but we must practice patience. Sometimes it is a challenge.

Beautiful slice. You have captured the aching need for Spring while Mother Nature tests your patience. Thanks for sharing.

It's cold and rainy here in Texas too. I love the rain but mercy, I am so sick of the rain! Patience... something I'm not good at. Haha

So many examples of alliteration set the pace for your restlessness. I love it. My favorites: want to walk in the woods, simply sun.

I live in the Northeast and the lie about feeling the restlessness within held my attention.

Soon, I tell myself. Soon it will be spring.

I live in California but moved here from Montana and that feeling of being worn out by winter comes back each time I read a slice about longing for spring to start. I hope you get to get your hands dirty soon!

No snow here in southern Michigan, but sun is hiding today. I am also ready to feel the sun on my face, sit outside and enjoy a warm breeze. Patience. I will take a lesson from your post; I will have patience!

I just want to be able to go outside without three layers on to keep warm.

I want the same "I wants" too - oh, for Spring!

The "I want" becomes more and more insistent in your final paragraph. I hope the sun does begin to shine for you soon. Snow - Be Gone!

Your words just flowed with vision for me. I think so many of us are wanting spring to actually show her face and stay. I, too, would love to see the sun...and will so appreciate it when we finally have a sunny (and maybe warm) day.
